Review: Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook by Gary Vaynerchuck

Gary Vee is a master of social media. Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook is a manifestation of everything he knows about social media. He explains how you should market/”Tell Your Story”, breaks down the different platform, and teaches you their “native language”. His simple and easy to apply social marketing tips are real game changers.

If you like marketing and social media then you are bound to find this book practical. Whether you are running a business that uses social media or simply want to increase your engagement, this is a fantastic book for you.

I will say this book is a little outdated in some technical aspects, nonetheless it is overall a valuable tool filled with timeless strategies. It also includes TONS of real life examples of incredible and dreadful social media marketing. After he explains the overall philosophy, the visuals really seal the deal.

Marketing in the old sense of buying a radio ad and a newspaper ad is completely dead. There are so many outlets competing for consumer attention and consumers have developed almost a mental ad blocker. So as all things change, you must evolve or die. Social media is the present & future of marketing. Gary V shows us how to do it in a way that feels natural.

When I use to run some Facebook pages for marketing I failed pretty horribly. After reading this book I completely understand why I failed. I didn’t put a lot of effort in and I didn’t think nearly as deep about the concept as necessary. Plus I didn’t understand what native content looked like. Gary Vee totally opened my eyes. If I were to market a product on Facebook today, I can guarantee I would have more success than before.

So in short, I would say this is a must read for anyone marketing on social media. Without the core principles Gary Vee outlines, your social media is doing more harm than good. If this post helped you, help the site and buy the book here.
